Hello! I'm Pol.
I'm a tech startup operator, investor and teacher.
I'm currently a Director/Principal at Talea, a new investment and corporate finance platform linked to Trea Asset Management, one of Spain's leading independent asset managers with over €11bn AUM.
Before that, I was:
- One of the first employees at Validated ID, a digital identity and e-signature startup backed by CaixaBank, later acquired by Signaturit Group and PSG Equity (a PE firm with ca. $28bn AUM).
- An Investment Manager at Kibo Ventures, a Spanish VC firm with €350m+ AUM, 5 unicorns and 1 NASDAQ IPO, and local co-investor in deals alongside Founders Fund, Atomico, Bessemer, Insight Partners, Goldman Sachs and BlackRock, among others.
- I started my career at Kantox, an FX currency management startup eventually acquired by BNP Paribas for €120m.
- Although it truly started with less sexy jobs, like a failed startup and blue-collar work at the airport, pushing bags around and, every now and then, literally fighting with crazy passengers.
I've also taught at ESADE as a teaching assistant in Finance, Innovation in Finance and Fintech. At a Catholic school, I taught economics and entrepreneurship while mentoring teenagers.
In my spare time:
- I run Views by Pol, a newsletter based on interviews. Past guests include people from Apple, Google, Founders Fund and NASA.
- I code, mostly building things around finance and cybersecurity.
- I learn math, statistics, software development and AI.
- I read quite a bit.
- I help with social impact projects.
- I pray.
I'm Catholic, and I've collaborated with social impact initiatives linked to the Catholic Church, such as:
- Prison ministry in the Spanish prison system.
- Volunteering at a Catholic orphanage in the West Bank (Palestine).
- Missionary work with Mother Teresa's sisters in Nepal.
